Marcio has successfully defended his master's thesis titled “Chemoprospecting Brazilian cyanobacteria using metabolomics and bioassays.” Congrats, Master M! 

But wait, it does not stop there. Márcio will continue with us for his Ph.D.!

Rhuana has successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis titled “Characterization and bioprospecting of cyanobacterial and microalgal biomass in water reservoirs aiming at their biotechnological potential.” Congrats, Doctor Rhu!

Attended super interesting talks, saw great posters, met old and new friends, and Márcio got the ASP Jerry McLaughlin Travel Award!

Camila went to the University of Lavras (UFLA) to give a talk about natural products drug discovery and a workshop on science communication. Thank you, Prof. Cristina Ferreira Silva and NEMAI for inviting!

We have been awarded a 5y-FAPESP grant to develop the research project "Integrated strategies for natural product discovery from Brazilian cyanobacteria". Way to go, team!

Our brand new stereoscopic microscope has just been installed. It will be used to isolate new cyanobacterial strains.

Márcio presented his work titled "Chemoprospection of Brazilian Cyanobacteria Using Metabolomics and Biological Assays" at the ASP Annual Meeting in Charleston, USA. He also receiived the Lynn Brady Student Travel Award!

Márcio has passed his qualifying exam! We very much thank the committee members: João Carlos Monteiro de Carvalho, Monica Tallarico Pupo, and Daniel Pecoraro Demarque.

We are happy to announce that ou project "Biotechnological prospection of natural products from Cyanobacteria" was included as part of the prestigious Research Program on Biodiversity Characterization, Conservation, Restoration and Sustainable Use –Biota/FAPESP. What an honor!

Camila presented her postdoctoral work "Improving and diversifying the production and investigating the biosynthesis of phomactins by the cultured fungus Biatriospora sp. CBMAI 1333" in the Gordon Research Conference. Fully funded by a FAPESP travel grant!

We joined the FAPESP-funded project "Bioprospecting, characterization and optimization of Brazilian microalgal strains for CO2 biofixation and bioproducts of commercial importance" coordinated by Prof. Lombardi.

Camila joins the faculty of the Department of Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Technology, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of São Paulo.
